The Malaga airport or rather the international airport of Malaga, with the IATA code (the most important): AGP and ICAO code: LEMG, is the most important airport in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia and the fourth most important in Spain.
This airport is so important because it represents the main gateway that welcomes and bids farewell to the vast number of tourists arriving on the Costa del Sol.
This airport, also known as Pablo Picasso Airport, is located in the district of Churriana, 7 km southwest of Malaga city centre.
Covid security measures
The use of face masks on non-vulnerable persons is not mandatory at the airport, but remains mandatory when on board, as well as on all transport; bus, train, etc.
Although not mandatory, it is recommended to wear a face mask inside the airport, and to avoid enclosed areas with crowds of people as much as possible.
Passengers from countries outside the European Union (except children under 12 years of age) must present a digital EU COVID certificate or an equivalent certificate of vaccination. A negative diagnostic certificate or proof of recovery is also valid. Here you can apply for your EU digital COVID certificate.

How to get there?
When travelling from an airport, the journey to the airport must also be planned as part of the trip.
We can use various means of locomotion such as bus, suburban train, taxi or Uber or our own car, in this case being self-sufficient and independent is the best if we know with certainty where and how much it will cost to park our own car.
By car
You can check the quickest road routes to get to the Malaga airport with the help of Google Maps. From your location to the airport, click here.
By bus
The Malaga Municipal Transport Company (EMT Malaga) can drop you off in front of the transport interchange at the airport for a single fare of €4 with no extra charge for luggage.
You can pay in cash when boarding the bus.
By train

By taxi/Uber
The most convenient, but also expensive option is to travel by taxi.
You can find the companies:
You can also get around the city with the confidence of Uber.
You have them all in the apps Bolt which also has its own cars.
What to eat?
Of course, within the airport itself you can find several options to stop the fast pace of flying and stop for a bite to eat, however, restaurants within the airport are known for their high prices, due to the expensive rents charged by the airport itself.
On the first floor you will find:
- Starbucks
- Burger King
- Giraffe Stop
- Eat
- Foodies
Among other tapas bars, cafés and restaurants.
If you are looking for more options that are not inside the airport, you can visit these restaurants and we leave you a link to TripAdvisor in case you are interested.
